The Movement Below is one of my first experimental pieces using mixed media with alcohol inks. Exploring more and introducing texture in my paintings the waves have been formed with moulding texture paste. Blues, greens and white modelling paste give the piece stunning texture throughout. The white paste echoing the breaking foam of the waves seen from an aerial view. The yellow and gold rugged parts of the painting are an abstract nod to the beach. Gritty and raw the scratches and gold can only be seen when the light hits them and then glows like the sun. A hugely interactive piece that will have you coming back again and again o discover more details.
Joining previous aerial seascape paintings this diptych pair illustrates the start of a new phase in my art. Matched with contrasting and contemporary black mounts they are ready to be framed and hung.
