Collection: Coasts of Britain

Small but mighty, Britannia is so small an island in comparison to the rest of the world, surrounded by sea from every side. Lovingly cradled and lapped from every which way. The coasts of Britain have over the years been a huge source of inspiration for me. In fact over the course of the last 20 years I have both lived near or visited a part of each coast, each holding memories to last a lifetime.

From Scotland's crystal sea, fossil searching through Norfolks pebbles coast, to beach combing and stone skipping in Margate, along to the Dover's cliffs, round to Brighton's pavilion, all the way to Anglesey's shores in Wales.

In my Coasts of Britain, there lingers something of nostalgia in its paintings. A nostalgia of many generations, of many different memories, of many different Britons, from many different parts of our countries.
